Welcome to all members past
and present of G.C.T.M.C Inc. for 2011.What an exciting year ahead for all our members and Motorsport enthusiasts
with lots happening in our motoring world. We start the action with a Khanacross at the Pimpama track and then follow it up with the Border Ranges Rally led by the new Clerk of Course, Stephen Davies, and hopefully two more Khanacross events before mid year.
I would like to take this
opportunity to give a big “thank you” to all out going committee members. Your support and hard work made my position that more enjoyable during the previous 12 months and thank you for staying on in 2011. Another big year regarding growth in our club membership occurred however we lost the WRC to Coffs Harbour and many events were cancelled in the latter part of the year because of the terrible weather in SE QLD.
I have been a long time
member of G.C.T.M.C. Inc. having joined the club in 1986, rallying for a couple
of years in my very unique Mazda R100. Having rebuilt the R100 over
the last three years I am looking forward to competing in many club and
selected major events during 2011.
I was club champion in 1987,
Vice President 91-92, President 93 & 94 and membership officer for the last
few years and finally President again in 2010.
Past Treasurer Ron King has headed off for a rallying sabatical in Victoria and other regions, Bob Bowden remains as Secretary, Jason
Ruse has been re-elected as Vice President and Simon Petty has been good enough to take on the role of Treasurer. Matt Linning and Lynne Taylor will control the scoring and Tony Taylor has taken on the Club Captains role. Thomas Rosengreen continues his masterful work on the PITSTOP magazine, Bruce Hodgson remains our CAMS delegate and Mick Bruce continues in the Historians role. Thank you to all of you for giving your time to the club.
We, as your elected committee,
look forward to working with all members to grow the club further and provide
as many events and activities that we are able to throughout 2011.
I look forward to meeting
all members and guests at the monthly club meeting as well as any event and
activity in which the club is involved.
